Airbox fact sheet

  • The OPENLY AIRBOX© is an innovative and controlled residential ventilation system that positions itself as a sustainable alternative to conventional solutions. Unlike Minergie ventilation, where air is often pumped into rooms via pipes, the OPENLY AIRBOX© reacts directly to the indoor air quality: as soon as the CO₂ content or humidity reaches a critical level, the Airbox opens automatically and provides fresh air. In summer, the Airbox also plays a central role in night-time cooling by dissipating excess heat and thus optimally regulating the indoor climate.

OPENLY AIRBOXES© offer a flexible and effective ventilation solution that can be combined with any standard window. They are installed in the window reveal, which not only has aesthetic but also practical benefits: the airbox remains invisible from the outside, while at the same time increasing sound insulation and ensuring pinch protection by eliminating the need for open windows.

Another advantage is the uncomplicated handling: the windows can of course also be opened manually if desired. In this way, the comfort of a classic window is retained, while the benefits of automated ventilation are fully exploited.

Compared to traditional Minergie ventilation systems, the OPENLY AIRBOX© therefore offers a more resource-efficient and flexible solution that is impressive in terms of technology, comfort and design. Thanks to its intelligent placement in the reveal, the airbox blends harmoniously into the façade without detracting from its appearance.

In summary, the OPENLY AIRBOX© stands for visual clarity, efficient sound insulation, safety thanks to anti-trap protection and an optimum indoor climate at all times - and all without complex pipe systems.

  • Since February 2025, Openly Airboxes have received Minergie P certification and thus cantonal subsidies.

  • The OPENLY AIRBOX is just the hardware with a simple open/close logic.

The airboxes are controlled by CO2 and temperature sensors in each room. These are connected via the Enocean wireless protocol and are installed during commissioning by our technology partner CLEVERSON.

The algorithms of the underlying control system can be individually adapted to the building and its occupants.
